The OCCRP Report has been making rounds once again after more than a year but what is the reason behind it? The reason is a recent report published by a French Publication Mediapart which has revealed how OCCRP is being funded by the US government and also by the billionaire and philanthropist George Soros and has been founded by Drew Sullivan.
The Report is Titled “The hidden links between a giant of investigative journalism and the US government”, which delves into the overwhelming influence of the US government on the working of OCCRP. It mentions “While the OCCRP does indicate on its website that it receives funding from the US Department of State, notably from the US Agency for International Development, USAID, it conceals the extent of the funding and the strings attached to it from its media partners, journalists and the wider public. Also, the US government financing is never mentioned in OCCRP-produced articles.
OCCRP keeps the funding from the US secret and never reveals the same in its documents. Apart from the US and other governments, the group also receives funding from the Open Society Foundations (OSF) of George Soros, the Ford Foundation and the Rockefeller Brothers Foundation, all left-wing groups openly targeting nationalist governments worldwide.
Rahul Gandhi and Parliament Sessions
Interestingly, a pattern has been noticed especially when it comes to Rahul Gandhi and his related speeches in the Parliament. Every time OCCRP or similar reports are released, Rahul Gandhi is the first person to take them up in any of the Parliamentary sessions. Indian National Congress is the first one to tweet about it, organizes various Press Conferences, highlighting all the key points mentioned in such Reports. Rahul Gandhi had also demanded a thorough probe in OCCRP’s report on Adani.
Interestingly enough, such reports have always surfaced just a few days before the parliament session is about to begin in the last 3 to 4 years.
Let us look at the chronology. The reports on farmer protests were published ahead of the 2021 budget session. The Pegasus report came before the monsoon session of 2021. The Hindenburg report targeting Adani was published when the budget session started in January 2023. Similarly, a BBC documentary on PM Modi came before the session in January 2023, and then before the session started in July 2023, a video on Manipur violence was released. During the general elections this year, a report on COVID-19 vaccines was published, and then before the budget session of 2024, the second Hindenburg report came.
Deep State?
This leads us to our next point which apparently leads to how it is clearly evident that Rahul Gandhi seems to be linked with US Deep state individuals such as Soros and Rahul Gandhi’s frequent visits to the U.S. and the UK only further reinforce such connection.

There are more interesting facts to back this up such as Some time back around October 2023, Rahul Gandhi’s mysterious visit to Uzbekistan had created Buzz in India, the reason behind this seemed to be Samantha Power, the Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), was there. In January 2021, Joe Biden nominated Power to head the USAID. Power has worked closely with George Soros and Henry Kissinger. It is speculated that given Power’s rhetoric about India mirrors that of Rahul Gandhi, the coincidence of the Uzbekistan trip was a bit too much to ignore. Sam Pitroda’s NGO is also funded by USAID, The Rockefeller Foundation, the US Department of State, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation – among others.
Salil Shetty who is the vice president, global, at the Open Society Foundations – one of the major funding agencies for OCCRP. And the same Salil Shetty was also seen with Rahul Gandhi during the latter’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Not only this, there is much more associated with it. While Rahul Gandhi held an event at the National Press club in the USA during his former visit, he also had interaction with the eminent personalities such as Bangladeshi Journalist Mushfiqul Fazal Ansaray, who has also been extensively associated with the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and has also contributed regularly to the Wire.
So, what’s your take on how over the last four years, every issue on which the Congress party has targeted the BJP seems to rely on narratives and supporting material originating from abroad. All these Issues seem to be very strategically created by the opposition party with the help and support of international sources.
